Robert Quattlebaum was also known as "Robert Q," and by some just "Q." He was born in Birmingham, Ala., on May 16, 1949. He passed from this life on Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013.
Robert lived in Birmingham until he was 11 years old. His folks then moved to San Jose, Calif. Later he met his wife, Carol, and they had two children.
He was in the USMC and very proud of his service to our country. He was a true friend to all who knew him.
He was the "cowboy" you would read about in books or see in movies. He truly was one of a kind.
If you knew Robert, you know how much he loved being a finish carpenter. He built or helped build many homes in and around the Kingman area. He had his own building company in California for many years. He was a very dedicated and hard worker.
He loved the outdoors and was off fishing at Cottonwood Cove or Lake Mead every chance he got. He loved being out camping, cooking over coals; he just loved everything about being outdoors.
Robert is survived by his children, Nebula Quattlebaum and Caleb (Heather) Quattlebaum, and his nephew Brent (Breana) Neves, whom he raised as his own son. He also has grandchildren who were his pride and joy. Robert has many friends who loved him dearly. Robert, you had a heart of gold and we all miss you so much.
We are going to have a memorial service some time in October out at Music Mountain Bible Chapel in Truxton. The exact time and date will be posted in the Daily Miner later.
