ELLIOTT, Louis Ferdinand

The Verde Independent, Cottonwood, Arizona Friday, March 30, 2007 Louis F. Elliott, 82, died March 16, 2007, after a short time of infirmity. He was born June 28, 1924, in St. Elizabeth Parish, Jamaica, BWI, to Louis and Josephine Elliott. The oldest of nine children, Louis made his home on the ocean and developed a love of fishing on the sea that lasted a lifetime. He left the island paradise and came to the United States. During the time of great demand for wartime production in 1943, he built tanks for Allis- Chalmers, supervised farm labor across the Midwest and went to New York City after World War II. After moving to Arizona in 1991 he found work in security again at Cliff Castle Casino where he made new friends every day. You may recall the television commercials featuring him as concierge of hospitality, at the home of the "winning smile" and the home of "Louis," as well. Louis is survived by his wife Alice; his son Kevin; and three granddaughters. A memorial service to celebrate his life is scheduled for April 1 at 2 p.m. at the park on Oak Creek, in the Oak Creek Valley community in Cornville.
