Marguerite "Betty" Middleton, formerly Marguerite Burns, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 6, 2013. Betty was born on January 18, 1927 in Denver, Col., to Robert and Marguerite Burns.
Betty attended Holy Family High School in Denver and received a Bachelor's degree from Loretto Heights College in Denver and a Master's degree from San Francisco State College. After college Betty worked as a Special Education Teacher before marrying Ed Middleton and raising six children. She returned to the workforce as an Administrative Assistant at the Southern California College of Optometry.
Betty enjoyed dancing, camping and playing Bridge.
Betty is survived by her spouse of 54 years, Ed, and children Robert (Renee) of Lake Forest, California, Lucy Alfonso (Sergio) of Tustin California, Mary Caldwell (Jeff) of Anaheim Hills, California, Janet von Sprecken (Blake) of Yorba Linda, California, Philip (Donna) of Durango, Colorado, and Thomas (Ronda) of Fullerton, California. Betty was a loving grandmother to 14 grandchildren.
A Mass in Betty's honor will be said at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church on Friday, Oct. 11 at 9 a.m.
