The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 10/11/2013 Hector Cruz, 59, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013, in Flagstaff. He was born April 23, 1954, in Matachic, Mexico, the son of Rafael Cruz and Inez Trujillo Cruz. Hector was a cowboy for Rancho Escondido. He was a very hard worker from an early age and loved working with cattle and ranching. He is survived by his wife, Elvera Chavez Cruz of St. Johns; sons: Manuelito and Apolinar of Mexico; daughter Sophia of Mexico; stepsons: Daniel of Colorado, Fabian of St. Johns, Joseph of St. Johns and McQuade of Morenci; mother Inez of Mexico; five grandchildren, 14 stepgrandchildren and four step great-grandchildren. Hector was preceded in death by his father. A rosary will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns with visitation one hour prior. A funeral Mass will follow the rosary at 11 a.m. Interment will follow the funeral Mass at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery. Leave an online condolence at www.burnhammortuary.com.
