STRAIGHT, Gary Lee

Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory - Lake Havasu City, Arizona - Gary Lee Straight, 61, died September 13, 2013 in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Gary was born February 1, 1952 to Cecil Lee and Lois A. (Nickle) Straight. Gary was an individual in the truest sense of the word. He was a gentle man who had a passion for learning about, experiencing and understanding the nature of those who settled the western United States. He lived simply and enjoyed life’s simple pleasures, seeing things in everyday life as small miracles. Gary was generous with sharing praise and encouragement to many with whom he enjoyed close relationships. Those who were fortunate enough to call him “friend” were rewarded with a window into the soul of a man who spoke the truth as he understood it, had a caring and compassionate heart, was able to laugh at himself and with others, and who had a deep and abiding faith. Gary is survived by his son, Jeremiah Straight; brother, Marvin E. Straight; sister, Helen J. “Jeanie” (Straight) Morgan; nieces, Cheryl (Straight) Newell, Jennifer (Straight) Hahn, Rebecca Jo (Morgan) Beverly; nephews, James Lee Morgan, Daniel E. Morgan; and 12 grand nieces and nephews. A celebration of his life, officiated by Pastor Chet Anderson, Calvary Baptist Church, will be held October 19, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Rodeo Grounds at Sara Park, Lake Havasu city, AZ.
