ALLEN, Perry Dee


Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Sunday, October 13, 2013 - Perry Dee Allen, 66, went home Oct. 3, 2013 at Sunrise Hospital, Las Vegas, Nev. Perry was born Feb. 28, 1947, in Seminole, Texas, to Tex and Carmen Allen. Perry grew up in Seminole, Texas. He attended L.D. Bell High in Egless, Texas, joined the U.S. Navy in 1964 and served for six years. He was honorably discharged in 1970. He began work for Bakersfield City as a firefighter where he worked for 23 years before retiring in 2005. Perry started living his life for Jesus Christ May 17, 1981, he offered himself as a loyal servant at Westchester Baptist Church. Perry married Deidre in 2000 in Bakersfield, Calif. They were happily married for 13 years. Perry enjoyed being surrounded by his loved ones, frequent trips to the casino, watching the news and daily coffee breaks. His favorite thing to do was to spend time with his granddaughter Lynzee; she was the light of his later years. Also he enjoyed pestering his two daughters, Morgan and Randa; Perry was very ornery at times, but there wasn’t a single thing in this entire world that he wouldn’t do for family, friends or a complete stranger. He had grown to be the most beautiful, kind-hearted man a person would be honored to know or meet. Perry Allen is survived by his spouse, Deidre, of Lake Havasu City; his daughters, Morgan and Randa, of Lake Havasu City and Phoenix; and his grandchild, Lynzee. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tex and Carmen; and his brother, Homer Jean. A celebration of his life will be at the Allen residence 2730 McCulloch Blvd. at 3 p.m., Oct. 18. Look for the big red fire truck. As Perry would say, “come as you are.”
