Janice (Jan) Mary Arbuckle, 69, passed away surrounded by her loving family at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, Sept. 16, 2013.
She was born Dec. 20, 1943, to Ben and Mary (Lynch) Brzinski, in St. Cloud, Minn. Jan and Bob Arbuckle were married May 1, 1975 at the Little Brown Church in Iowa. Jan worked in the travel industry for many years and enjoyed traveling to many places around the world. Jan and Bob lived in Wabasha for 30 years on the Mississippi River, where they loved boating. Snowmobiling with friends and family was also enjoyed for many years. In 1999, Jan and Bob moved to Lake Havasu City permanently after vacationing in Arizona for several years.
In Havasu, Jan was a member of the Lake Havasu Classic Car Club and Women’s Club, which held many activities that she was involved with, and developed wonderful friendships. Jan enjoyed playing Bunco, cards, dancing, visiting casinos, painting landscapes and spending time with family and friends. Jan loved her family deeply and will be greatly missed.
Jan is survived by her children, Scott (Gayle) Deobald, of Zumbro Falls, Minn.; Tim Kowalski, of Fargo, N.D.; Chris (Rick) Kolar, of Zumbro Falls, Minn.; and Shannon (Russ) Mullen, of Mesa. Also three stepchildren, Bob (Tami) Arbuckle, of Hayfield, Minn., Vicki (Mike) Wente, of Menomonie, Wis., and Joe (Connie) Arbuckle, of LaCrosse, Wis.; brothers, Ron (Arlene) Brzinski, of Maplewood, Minn., Len (Judy) Brzinski, of Tucson, and John (Becky) Brzinski, of Clear Lake, Minn.; her Uncle, Pat Lynch, of Arizona; 18 cherished grandchildren and eight adored great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband Bob; and her parents, Ben and Mary Brzinski.
A memorial service will be Oct. 16, 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. Memorials are preferred to Lake Havasu Classic Car Club for their charity causes.
