The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, October 13, 2013 Colonel Ronald Henry Martinson On the morning of Oct. 3, 2013, the world lost a devoted husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. A native of Anaconda, Butte, Bozeman and Great Falls, Mont., Colonel Ronald Henry Martinson, 78, has lived with his wife of 55 years, in Prescott Valley, Ariz., since 1999. He attended Carroll College where he graduated in business finance. Col. Martinson proudly served his country as a fighter pilot in the Montana Air National Guard and retired after 38 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Phoenix Air in Fargo, N.D., and Oahu, Hawaii. As an officer of the Elks Lodge and an avid volunteer of the Lions in Prescott Valley, Ron had a strong compassion for the charities supported by these organizations. He was able to see the impact the Elks and Lions have on less fortunate. Ron leaves his cherished memories to many people who loved him. He is survived by his wife Darlene Martinson; daughter Lori (Kevin) Kostelnik of Aiken, S.C.; two grandchildren, Samantha Kostelnik of Columbia, S.C., and Colton Kostelnik of Aiken, S.C.; sons Thomas (Brenda) Martinson of Carlsbad, Calif., and Rick Martinson of Portland, Ore.; brother-in-law Donald (Vee) Campbell of Helena, Mont.; and cousins nieces and nephews. A military funeral service will be noon on Saturday, Oct., 19, 2013, at the Prescott Veterans Administration Chapel, 500 N. Highway 89, Prescott, Ariz., immediately followed by a memorial ceremony/luncheon at the Elks Lodge. Information provided by survivors.
