Margaret Stevens Briney passed away at the Eastern New Mexico Medical Center on Oct. 13, 2013.
Margaret or as she was known to all as Peg, was born in Kenosha, Wis. on May 11, 1929. Her father was John Stevens and her mother was Helen Marie Peterson Stevens. She graduated from the Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago, Ill. with her RN certificate in 1950. She also graduated from Roosevelt University in Chicago, Ill. in 1955. Her career as a registered nurse took her to several hospitals in Illinois, Washington D.C. and Pennsylvania.
She married Dr. William F. Briney in Kenosha, Wis. in 1957 and there are three children, Laura Huette of Bunker Hill, Ill., John Briney and wife Penny of Mesa, Ariz. and William F. Briney Jr. and wife Diane of Chester, N.J.
She is survived by her husband William; her children; and six grandchildren, Brieanne Marie Huette and Mark Andrew Huette of Bunker Hill, Ill., Erin and Jennifer Briney of Phoenix, Ariz. and Kristin Elizabeth and William F. Briney III of Chester, N.J. She is also survived by her brother, Robert Stevens of Oviedo, Fla.
Memorial services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013 at the Westminster Presbyterian Church at 2801 W. 4th Street with Reverend Randy Nolen presiding.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Presbyterian Outreach Program at the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
