Tara Power passed peacefully on to her next life on September 29, 2013 of natural causes. Frontotemporal Dementia was the underlying cause. She passed in San Diego.
Born May 16, 1954 in Yuma, Arizona, to Charles and Virginia Smith, Tara grew up in Yuma, and, like many from Yuma, spent her summers in San Diego. Following graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Ernest Power III, and led a nearly storybook married life that lasted over 40 years.
Tara was a loving mother, daughter, sister and wife. A truly beautiful person on the inside and out, she was loved by everyone who was lucky enough to get to know her. Her love of ceramic arts has left her family and friends with a rich legacy of pieces she created. She will be sorely missed.
Tara is survived by her husband, Ernie, daughter Andrea Power Edmundson and husband Jimi of Fletcher Hills, daughter Tanya Power Clark and husband Cody of Everett, Washington, sister Patricia (Smith) Gray and husband Robert of Salinas, CA, sister Kathleen (Smith) Valentine of Yuma, AZ, brother Michael Smith of Huntington Beach, CA, 4 grandchildren, James and Aislyn Edmundson, Jeremiah and Josiah Clark, and her aunt Laura Rowe of Tucson, AZ.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the hospice of your choice, ours being Sharp Hospice.
