Juliaetta (Proctor) Burnside, 77. Went home to our Lord on December
15, 2005.
She was born in Trunkeyville, PA on May 7, 1928 and has lived in Phoenix, AZ for the past 43 years.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, James Elson Burnside Sr., her sister Helen Messenger and a brother Charles Proctor.
She was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 5 sisters, William, Clifford, Hubert, Richard, Max, Ernest, Viola, Edith, Lucinda, Maebelle, and Maxine. Also preceded in death by 3 children, Stephen, Matthew, Ernestine, and one grandson Terry Dean.
She is survived by 2 sons James (Sheila) Burnside Jr., Jonathan (Cindy) Burnside and 4 daughters, Victoria (Walter) Griffin, Juanita Perkins, Judith Janes (Alan Mehlberg) and Louella (David) Canez. 24 grandchildren, Venus, Melvina, Becky, Jimmy, Johnny/Jay, Jennifer, Joseph, Joshua, Kimberly, Michael, Clinton, Jenny, Stephanie, Matthew Jr., Tracy, Kerry, David, Eric, Luisa, Marilu, Julietta and Christopher. Also 33 great-grandchildren.
Her whole life was very dedicated to her family, friends, church, and community. Her work was never done. She was retired from Motorola, became involved on other activities such as voting polls, volunteering for St. Mary's Food Bank, assisting with Sunday School and church functions.
A memorial service will be held at Mountain View Christian Church 2927 East Campbell, Phoenix, AZ 85016. Wednesday, December 21, 6:00 P.M. At her request a private viewing and burial service will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona.
In lieu of flowers she requested that donations be made to St. Mary's Food Bank or Hospice of the Valley in her name.
Her final wish was to keep her husband and family in your prayers. She was a woman who touched many lives, who was greatly loved and will be deeply missed.
