Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Friday, October 18, 2013 - Janet Lee Rhodes, 69, passed away Oct. 16, 2013 in Lake Havasu City. She was born March 4, 1944 in Gary, Ind. to Albert and Lucy (Winkleman) Dillard. Janet moved to Lake Havasu City nine years ago, coming from Las Vegas, Nev. where she lived for 10 years. She worked for many years as an insurance agent in Arizona and Las Vegas. Janet retired in 1999 due to health issues. She enjoyed visiting with her family and friends. During her time here in Lake Havasu City she enjoyed the company of old friends and meeting new ones. Her church family meant the world to her. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She will surely be missed by all who loved her and knew her. Janet is survived by her sons, John and Jim Gaydos; sister, JoAnne (Kenneth) Erwin; grandchildren, Sarah, Jennifer, Scott, Michaele, Samantha, Vina and Thomas; two nephews, three nieces and six great nephew and nieces and three great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, father and an infant daughter. Funeral service will be at Lake Havasu Mortuary Chapel, Friday, Oct. 18, at 3:30 p.m. with Pastor Chris Blythe officiating. Burial will be at Palm Cemetery in Las Vegas, Nev. Contributions can be made in Janet’s name to New Hope Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
