Mohave Daily News, Mohave Valley, AZ - Published in Mohave Daily News Online from Oct. 15 to Oct. 22, 2013 - John Vierthaler, age 45, a 44-year resident of Bullhead City, Ariz., passed away on Wednesday, October 9, 2013. John was born on February 2, 1968, in Huntington Park, California. He was employed at one time by the Riverside Casino and the Edgewater Resort in Laughlin, Nev. John was preceded in death by his brother, Christopher Vierthaler. He is survived by his mother, Joan Vierthaler of Bullhead City, Ariz.; brother, David Vierthaler of Phoeniz, Ariz.; nephew and niece, Christopher and Samantha Vierthaler of Coeur d'alene, Idaho; uncle, John Mitchell of Newport, Calif.; grandmother, Carole Vierthaler; and uncle and aunt, Martin and Valerie Benko, all of Safford, Ariz. John lived for 44 years in Bullhead City and enjoyed all of Bullhead's entertainment especially the river and all its joys. John's greatest assest was his tremendous sense of humor. He always kept us laughing. He was a generous, caring person who loved his family, friends and, not last, his dogs. He had a lifetime joy of gardening and landscaped his family's home. Children always had fun with John, as he had a great imagination for inventing games and especially keeping his nephew, Christopher and niece, Samantha entertained. "A special light in our family has gone out, we'll all miss him." A memorial service will be held at 12:00p.m noon on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at Desert Lawn Funeral Home, 9250 S. Ranchero Lane, Mohave Valley, Graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m.
