Violet M. Parenteau (Vi) was born in Freehold, N.J. on June 6, 1919 and went to be with her savior on Oct. 1, 2013.
She is preceded in death by her husband Williams J. Parenteau, Sr., her son, Rev. Williams J. Parenteau, Jr., her parents Williams & Mable Beech and two sisters and a brother.
She is survived by five children, Judy Parenteau, Glendale, Ariz., Albert (Bud) Parenteau (Barb), Pam Hendrickson, Williams Ariz., (Joe), Doris Morris, Mesa Ariz., (Mel) and David Parenteau, Florence, Ariz., (Keli), 20 grand children, 39 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Vi and her family moved to Avondale, Ariz. in 1944 and lived there until her husband died in 1955. Vi then moved to Phoenix and lived there for a number of years. She then moved to Scottsdale where she was the manager of the APS Scottsdale Office.
She worked for APS for 28 years and was the first area manager for Tempe. She retired in 1985 and then managed the Gift Shop at Tempe St. Luke's Hospital in Tempe. She served as president of the Tempe St. Luke's Hospital Auxiliary one year and was a member for many years. She attended the Epiphany Episcopal Church in Tempe for many years before she moved to Dewey, Ariz., where she attended St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Prescott, Ariz.
Vi was involved in a lot of different organizations: Junior Achievement, Rotary, Tempe Chamber of Commerce, Toastmasters, she served as president one year for the Business & Professional Women's Club of Arizona and was a long time member of the Scottsdale BPW Club. She loved to travel and pretty much traveled the world. She was loved and admired by everyone. She will be missed.
