Williams – Grand Canyon News, Williams, Arizona Tuesday, October 01, 2013 John Leo Black went to be with the Lord on September 17, 2013. John was a native of Williams, Ariz. having been born to Leo and Vera (Goss) Black on May 20, 1946. John attended Williams schools and served in the Navy during the Vietnam War before graduating from Northern Arizona University. John had a career in law enforcement, first with the Arizona Department of Public Safety, then with the Coconino County Sheriff's Department and most recently with the National Park Service in Nevada. John was living in Grand Junction, Colo. at the time of his passing. John is survived by his daughter Jonell (Chris) Massey; two granddaughters Taylor and Hayden; and one grandson, Wyatt; two sisters Cokie Walker and Jackie Puckett and their families, as well as numerous extended family members. A celebration of life will take place in Williams and be announced at a future date.
