SANTILLAN, George Walter


Arizona Daily Sun, Flagstaff, Arizona, Sunday, October 20, 2013 George Walter Santillan left this earth to fly free on August 09, 2013 at the age of 63. He was beloved father to son Joseph Michael Sweigart Santillan (Amanda) and grandchildren Joseph Jr “JJ” and Sofia Rose (who loved their Pop Pop so very much), daughter Mari Beth Santillan (grandson Wesley George), Step-daughter Andrea Marquardt (grandson Nathaniel), Step-son Racer, beloved brother to Dan Santillan (Grace), Charles Santillan (Glenda), Howard Santillan, Leonard Santillan, Bill Santillan (Monica) and beloved son to Telo and Letha Santillan, who were waiting for him w/open arms in heaven. He was also beloved uncle, cousin, nephew and dear friend to many. George was born in Wasco, CA on May 04, 1949. He graduated from Wasco High School and studied at Bakersfield College, CA. George lived in Phoenix, AZ, though was a long-time resident of Flagstaff, AZ, where he worked many years as Head Surgical Tech at Flagstaff Medical Center. He was also a Reserve Member of the Army National Guard at Camp Navajo Army Depot, Bellemont, AZ. He was very proud of his military service both w/the Army National Guard and the US Marine Corps and the distinction of serving his country in Vietnam and Desert Storm. George had a wonderful heart and was a loving, kind-hearted, good man. He enjoyed reading and music, hunting, 4 wheeling and motorcycle riding in his younger days, and was known to enjoy watching Sponge Bob and The Price is Right w/his grandchildren and family. :) He will be missed more than words can say. God speed and rest in peace, George...you were and are loved! Funeral services will be held on Sat, October 26, 2013 at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Redeemer Cemetery, 23015 N Cave Creek Rd, Phoenix, AZ.
