Silver Creek Mortuary, Taylor, Arizona Wilbur Tonay (July 14, 1959 - October 20, 2013) Wilbur Tonay, 54, passed away October 20, 2013 in Mesa, Arizona. Wilbur was born July 14, 1959, in Whiteriver, Arizona, to the Late Ranzo and Milicent Tonay. He lived and made his home in Cibecue all his life and he never wanted to leave. He worked with tribal forestry and fought fires, even out of state. He enjoyed his grandchildren, but had them call him “uncle”. He enjoyed Basketball and had attended school at Phoenix Indian School. He liked listening and dancing to music, reggae and oldies. He loved hanging out with his friends. Wilbur is survived by his sister Sylvia T. Tessay; aunt Euniece Tessler; and uncle Jordan Lavender. He is preceded in death by his parents Renzo and Millicent Tonay. A wake will be held Friday, October 25, 2013, at 12:00 p.m. at his home in Cibecue, Arizona. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pentecostal church in Cibecue, Arizona. Interment will follow the funeral services on Saturday.
