MITCHELL, Warren Charles (Mitch)


The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Saturday, October 26, 2013 Warren Charles "Mitch" Mitchell, 66, formerly of Falmouth, Sanford and Portland, Maine, and Prescott, Ariz., died at the VA Hospice in Prescott Sept. 14, 2013, after a short illness. He was born Feb. 28, 1947, to Stanley and Ella Chamberland Mitchell in Brunswick, Maine. He attended Falmouth High School and joined the Army serving with Westmorland's MAC V outfit in Vietnam in 1967 and earned the Purple Heart. He was a farmer, mason and long haul trucker, substance abuse volunteer at Serenity House, and substance abuse counselor at Milestone in Old Orchard Beach, Maine, worked for the Oxford Street Shelter, Portland, Maine; Counselor at Yavapai Exceptional Industries in Prescott Valley, Ariz., and substance abuse counselor at Serenity In The Pines in Prescott, Ariz. Mitch was also a very good "Friend of Bill W." for 27 years. He was predeceased by his mother Ella C. Mitchell; father Stanley Mitchell; and brother Stanley Mitchell Jr. Mitch is survived by many friends; coworkers; and acquaintances; and contributed much to his communities. Mitch was a good friend to many, a special friend to a few and will be sorely missed by all. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Mitch's memory to Catholic Charities, 434 W.
