Felicia Ann Gutierrez, 68, entered Heaven on Tuesday, December 28, 2010. She was born November 20, 1942 in Somerton, AZ. Felicia became a Certified Nursing Assistant through Central Arizona College of Coolidge, AZ. She was a Language Preservation Coordinator (LPC) for kwapa ñawee u'as llusaaw, Somerton, AZ. She was a charter member of the Somerton Church of the Nazarene, Ft. Yuma United Methodist Church and an active member of Elders Cultural Council (ECC). She had served 14 years as the Cocopah Translator on the Tribal Elections Committee. She was an active supporter of the San Luis Mission, Women's Ministry, and Native Music Ministries. Felicia is survived by her sons, Manny Gutierrez of Reading, Pennsylvania, and Rueben Gutierrez of Yuma; daughter, Serena Gutierrez of Yuma; five grandchildren and 1 great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary Stevens-Huck and Jimmie Huck. Funeral Service were held at Ft. Yuma United Methodist Church on Tuesday, January 4, 2011. Traditional Ceremony followed at West Cocopah Cry House. Tribal Cremation at dawn on Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at the West Cocopah Tribal Burial Grounds. Officiating was Pastor Robert Kline and Reverend Ray Stillings. Pallbearers were Manny Gutierrez, Rueben Gutierrez, Anthony Gutierrez, J. Deal Begay Jr., David Martinez Sr., and Joshua Rodriguez.
