HARRISON, John E.

John E. Harrison of Yuma passed away December 16, 2010 at the age of 81. He was born in Pendleton, Oregon in 1929 to Pearl Elizabeth Knotts and John Lafayette Harrison. He served four years in the United States Air Force, three of those years in Japan. He graduated from Oregon State University in 1957. He retired from US West telephone company as the General Security Manager in Portland in 1984. He was a life member of PI TAU SIGMA National Mechanical Engineering Fraternity, and was a licensed and registered Mechanical Engineer in the state of Oregon. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Arleta, a daughter Debra Harrison of Portland, and son and daughter-in-law David and Gretchen Harrison of Lakewood, Washington. Some of his happiest days after retirement were sailing on the Columbia River and off the Oregon coast. So fair winds,and happy sailing, my friend. There are no services planned at this time.
