JONES, Harold Gilbert

Harold Gilbert Jones, 83, died the morning of December 25, 2010 at the Yuma Regional Medical Center in Yuma, AZ after a year long battle with lung cancer. Harold was born in Beaver Creek, Oregon December 21, 1927 to Wallace and Mable Jones. Harold was a very loving man, always responsible keeping things organized and on time. He had a very strong will and enjoyed socializing with people. His family adored him and he was never left alone. After serving with the U.S. Air Force from 1946 to 1966, he joined the Arizona Highway Patrol in 1974. He spent 16 years of his life there and retired in 1990. He leaves his wife, Petra Jones; son, Daniel Watts; daughters, Olivia McCartney, Nancy and Brenda Ruelas; brothers, Marvin, Ronnie, Donnie, Elmer, Norman and Bob Jones; sister, Pat Quinton; grandchildren, George Franklin, Lee and Edward McCartney, Ty Watts and Margaret Gable. Funeral Services were held by Johnson Mortuary and Desert Lawn Memorial Park December 30, 2010 with a military ceremony. Mass at 10:00 am that same day. A viewing was provided for family and friends as well as all who knew him December 29, 2010 at the same location. Published in The Yuma Sun on December 30, 2010
