Oliver Walton Russell, 87, of Spring Valley, Ariz., born Oct. 5, 1918, in Ray, Ariz., died Monday, March 6, 2006 in Spring Valley.
Oliver was a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 11, at the LDS Church, Spring Valley Ward.
Commemoration services will follow at 11 a.m. at the church. Committal services will be at 2:30 p.m. the same day at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Phoenix, Ariz.

Oliver Russell, born October 5, 1918, in Ray, Arizona, went to our lord on March 6,2006.
Oliver was a World War II veteran who served in the Southwest Pacific Theater as a member of the famous Bushmasters. He joined the first Arizona National Guard, M Company, 158th infantry on December 17, 1941, and was stationed in the Panama Canal, New Guinea, and New Zealand.
Oliver was one of seven children, born to Fern (Windsor) and George Walton Russell. He is preceded in death by his brothers George and Lamar, and sisters, Vaughn and Bernice.
He was married to Geraldine Branch Russell for 35 years until her death. The couple had three children, Kathleen, Irene and Shelley.
He was a longtime resident of Phoenix, and worked for the Gaudet's Pump Company on Van Buren Road, and for the U.S. Postal Service until his retirement.
He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Oliver is survived by his daughters, Kathleen O'Rourke, Irene Russell and Shelley Rowley; brothers, John and David Russell; grandchildren, Tanya Tautu, Victor Wernett, Vince, Natalie and Emily Rowley, great-granddaughter, Hannah Tautu and wife Barbara.
Funeral Services will be handled by Sunrise Funeral Home, Prescott Valley, Arizona.
Services will be Saturday at the LDS church, Spring Valley Ward on Spring Valley Rd., Spring Valley, Arizona. A viewing will be held at 10 a.m., and church services at 11 a.m.
Internment will be at 2 p.m. at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery on 27th
Avenue and Van Buren, Phoenix, Ariz.
