CHAVEZ, Isabel

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/01/2013 Isabel Saiz Chavéz, 89, died Oct. 19, 2013, at her residence in St. Johns. She was born March 25, 1924, in Kelly, N.M., the daughter of Luperto Saiz and Desideria Peralta Saiz. Isabel was a loving homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family, canning and crocheting. She is survived by her sons, Bob Chavéz and Pat Chavéz Jr.; daughters: Rosemary Chavéz, Elizabeth S. Chavéz and Maria Chavéz; brothers: Luperto Saiz Jr., Henry Saiz, Ramon Saiz, Lawrence Saiz and James Saiz; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. Isabel was preceded in death by her husband, Patricio Chavéz; daughters Gloria Orona and Diana Mariño; grandson Robert K. Chavéz; granddaughter Anna Chavéz; daughter-in-law Rose K. Chavéz; and her parents, brothers and sisters. Funeral Mass was held Oct. 24 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in St. Johns. Interment followed at the St. Johns Catholic Cemetery.
