HOOD,
Joseph (Joe)
Prescott Evening Courier, Prescott, Arizona Territory
Tuesday, October 27, 1903, page 3
Sunday last, while out hunting, Frank Derr found the dead body of
Joe Hood, a member of the Jerome Miner's union, at the head of
Miller Canyon, where it probably had been for about three weeks.
But for the fact that the union card was found in one of the pockets
of the clothes on the body, identification would have been well nigh
impossible. Deceased was 48 years old and a native of Nova Scotia.
He had been in poor health for some time. Coroner Talbott and
Sheriff Roberts went out yesterday to hold an inquest on the
remains.
The funeral will take place today from Logan's parlors under the
auspices of the Western Federation of Miners.
