Kingman Daily Miner, Kingman, AZ - Published on October 31, 2013 - Barbara A. Barnes, 62, was called home on Friday evening, Oct. 25, 2013, after battling lung cancer for a year. She was born on July 15, 1949, in Long Island, N.Y. Barbara married her loving husband, William Barnes, on July 17, 1971. Barbara was a loving mom to two daughters as well as countless friends who called her "Mom." She was involved with the local PTA and a Girl Scout leader, and was a supporter of anything her girls and their friends were into. Barbara and her husband moved to Kingman in 2003. She loved to crochet, make crafts and watch her three grandchildren. She was also involved in Project Linus, Mutt Matchers, Cornerstone Mission and Grace Lutheran VBS, and created unique blankets for holiday gift bags for homeless Kingman High School students. She had a big heart for caring for others and her presence will be missed. Barbara is survived by her husband, Bill Barnes; her sister, Linda Millang; her two daughters, Belinda Christie and Billie Jo Clouse; her three grandchildren; and countless family members and beloved friends. A memorial service is planned for Barbara at noon Sunday, Nov. 3, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2101 Harrison St. It will be followed by a potluck buffet open to family and friends.
