The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona, Sunday, November 03, 2013 Billie Cox, 78, of Chino Valley, Ariz., departed from this life Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, in Phoenix, Ariz. She was born on Oct. 28, 1934, in Bluff City, Tenn., and moved to Arizona in 1955. Arizona remained her home for the rest of her life, living in several towns in Northern Arizona and in Chino Valley for the past 36 years. Over the years she had many varied jobs including working in a hospital, for the police department, working in manufacturing, helping train race houses, driving a school bus and working in machine shops. Billie was an avid reader and enjoyed a good day fishing anytime. She had a great sense of humor, was a special friend to many people and enjoyed life to its fullest. She is preceded in death by her parents; five siblings; and one "adopted" daughter. She is survived by two brothers, Ed and Jim; two sisters, Belle and Margaret (Stanley); "adopted children" Martha and Danny; and special friends, Faye, Diana, Dot and Gail. A memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, 2013, at the First Southern Baptist Church in Chino Valley. Internment will follow in the Chino Valley Cemetery on West Road 2 South. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the children's programs at the First Southern Baptist Church in Chino Valley would be greatly appreciated. Chino Valley Funeral Home is caring for the family.
