Walter John (Jack)
Walter John Mortimer III, "Jack" passed away at the Eckstein Center in Scottsdale on March 16, 2006, at the age of 75, with loved ones by his side.
Jack was a resident of Surprise, AZ. He was preceded in death by his second wife Laverne Hall, his mother and father Virginia E. Mortimer and Walter John Mortimer Jr. He is survived by his sons Alan Mortimer (Michelle), Puyallup, WA, James Mortimer, Boise, ID, his daughter Mary Atwell and granddaughters Michelle and Krista Atwell of Fountain Hills, sister Marilyn Alstrand (Al) and their children Eric, Nancy and Gail and their children and grandchildren of CA., James Jordy, Florence, AZ, Alice Burch and children, Eugene, OR., and his first wife Terry Mortimer, Fountain Hills.
After serving in the army during the Korean War, Jack graduated from San Francisco State University. He was a broadcaster in television and radio in Eureka, CA, a member of the Rotary Club, and owned an advertising agency.
Services were held at the National Memorial Cemetery 23029 N. Cave Creek Road, Phoenix on Friday April 7, 2006.
