Howell B. Lacy, Lt Col, USAF (Ret.), 84, passed away on August 15, 2003 in Sun City, AZ.
Howell is survived by Doris Burge of Sun City, AZ; children: Linda, Sharon, Jim, Diane, Susan, Lisa, Bif and 9 grandchildren.
Howell was a WWll combat veteran and as a member of the US Army's 1st Armor division and 45th Infantry division participated in North African campaign, the invasions of Sicily, Salerno, and Anzio and the liberation of Dachau concentration camp in Germany. Howell was a graduate of the Mechanical engineering departments of the University of New Mexico (BS) and Oklahoma State University M(S). A career Air Force Officer, he was one of the first members of the New Mexico Air National Guard at Kirkland Air Force Base, NM. Howell's Air Force assignments include Sandia National Laboratories, and the Air Force Special Weapons Center at Kirkland Air Force Base, SD.
After retiring from the Air Force, Howell established a residential construction business in Sedona, AZ.
