Verna Joan (Reid) Armistead, 69, passed away August 25, 2006 in Mesa, Arizona.
Joan, a third generation Arizona native, was born July 25, 1937 in Clarkdale, AZ.
The granddaughter of Arizona pioneer families, Joan grew up and attended schools in Payson, Phoenix and Chandler, graduating from Chandler High School in 1954.
Joan was preceded in death by her brother William Guy, father Guy, and husband, James W. Armistead. Joan is survived by her mother Beryl; sister Evalee (Mike); daughter Cindy (Don); son James; grandchildren: Kacie, Micheal (Tina), TJ, Winston and Chason; great-grandchildren: Summer, Canyon and Shyann; and nephews: Jayson and Bill.
Family graveside services were held at the Pine Community Cemetery in Pine, AZ. Meldrum Mortuary handled the arrangements.
An informal celebration of her life at the Sidewinder Restaurant in Pine.
