LEIFER-DONOHUE, Irene Margaret

Irene Margaret Leifer-Donohue passed away at the age of 84 on August 17, 2006. She is survived by her children, Ron Leifer, Arleen (Jim) Myers, Joanne (Dan) Christensen and Diane Hoskins. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Marilyn Geesey. She is also survived by ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Irene was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where she lived and worked in the restaurant business until moving to Phoenix, AZ in 1961. She re-entered the workforce to accept a job at the Peoria Senior Center. She completed her working years as Activities Coordinator with Olive Branch Senior Center in Sun City, AZ where she worked for 15 years. At the age of 80, she was named Employee of the Year for Sun Health; she retired at the age of 81. Irene will be greatly missed by her family whom she loved. Memorial Services were held at the Chapel at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 1500 W. Maryland Ave., Phoenix, AZ. Published in The Arizona Republic from 8/30/2006 - 9/3/2006.
