Harry McElhone passed away on August 24, 2006.
He was born on October 12, 1919 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
He married Marie Quay on January 13, 1945. They celebrated 56 years together. He met Marie while he was in the Army Air Corps and stationed at Luke Air Force base. He graduated from Fort Wayne Bible College, Taylor University and ASU. He was a teacher at Phoenix Christian High School and at Paiute and Pima Elementary Schools in the Scottsdale School District. Harry retired in 1983.
He is predeceased by his wife, Marie, the love of his life. He is survived by his three children--Linda McBee and her fiance Bob Parker, Colleen Helman (Jim) and David McElhone; 4 grandchildren--Jamie Barton, Keena Bilyeu (Justin), Melissa Helman her fiance Danny Estavillo and Jonathan Helman; 5 great-grandchildren--Alyssa, Joshua, Madalyn, Chloe and Erik and his nephew, James McElhone of Pennsylvania.
His tender-hearted spirit will be greatly missed. His family is forever grateful for his love and devotion to them and to his Lord Jesus Christ.
Services were at North Phoenix Baptist Church, 5757 N. Central Avenue. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his memory to Phoenix Christian High School for the Harry and Marie McElhone Memorial Scholarship Endowment. Arrangements entrusted to A. L. Moore Grimshaw Bethany Chapel.
