SHERWOOD, Gloria

The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11-08-2013 Gloria Sherwood, 88, died peacefully Saturday, Nov. 2, 2013, at her residence in Richville. She was born March 28, 1925, in St. Johns, the daughter of John William and Adelaide Louisa Jones Sherwood. Gloria served the United States as a World War II military nurse. She was a nurse at the hospital in McNary for 20 years and then for Apache County for another 20 years before retiring. Gloria had no children of her own, but many nieces and nephews who she loved and who loved her. Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Velma Sherwood, Sonia Fae Sherwood, Louise Greer, Murel Stradling and Laura Greer; and brothers John Sherwood, Milburn Sherwood, Quentin Sherwood and Wendell Sherwood. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Springerville Building, with visitation one hour prior.
