The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Sunday, November 17, 2013 Kathleen M. Peterson-Reyes, née Klitzke, 69, of Chino Valley, Ariz., went home to God on eagle's wings Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Las Fuentes Care Center in Prescott after a brief illness. Born March 16, 1944, in Oshkosh, Wis., to Clarence and Bernice Klitzke, Kathy, her husband Pete, and son Todd moved to Prescott in 1984. She and Pete relocated to Chino Valley in 2006, where she reignited her passion for working with and caring for horses. Throughout five decades, Kathy committed her education and career to serving those who struggle with mental illness and substance addiction. She joyfully connected horsemanship and therapeutic practice, earning equine psychotherapy certification through EGALA after retiring from West Yavapai Guidance Clinic, NARBHA and NAZCARE. Kathy's dedication to her Christian faith and principles of recovery laid an unshakeable foundation for her boundless zeal and pursuit of life's adventures, even in the face of trials and losses. She never lost her fanatical devotion for her Green Bay Packers, complete with car flag and cheesehead hat! Kathy is survived by her beloved son Todd (Sherol) of Rio Rancho, N.M.; grandchildren Jett, Christopher and Melannie; and great-grandchildren Christyl and Trinity. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband "Pete" (Maurice) Peterson. She leaves behind many friends, colleagues, extended family and clients who will dearly miss her expertise, heart and contagious laughter. A celebration and remembrance of Kathy's life is from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at the Crystal Ballroom at Hotel St. Michael, 205 W. Gurley in Prescott, with The Rev. Eunice Pearson-Wold officiating and a dessert reception immediately following. Survivors are grateful to Arizona Ruffner Wakelin in Prescott for their services.
