Salvatore Parisi
January 4, 1924 - November 11, 2013
Patriarchs do more than lead our families. They teach us about who we are, inspire us to be better and connect us through our lineage. They live and love like Salvatore Parisi.
Salvatore was born on January 4, 1924 and passed away on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 2013 at the age of 89. It was a fitting day to pass as this was the very day he had enlisted 71 years ago in the Army Air Corp. During WWII, Salvatore was a B17 bombardier and loved telling war stories. He had a deep appreciation for gathering with his family, cooking and sharing his experiences. He was an accomplished businessman and an intellectual who shared his knowledge and passion for learning with anyone willing to listen.
He is survived by an adoring family: His wife of 68 years, Antoinette; son Paul (Cathy) Parisi; daughter Kathy (Clay) Kidd; grandchildren Karen (Matthew) Perry, Ben (Pam) Parisi, Alex (Christy) Parisi, Eric Parisi, Adam (Lauren) Kidd, Daniel Kidd and Jessica (Alex) Bianchi; great-grandchildren Olivia Parisi and his namesake Salvatore Parisi, Cash and Cadence Perry. He is now in heaven with his cherished son Larry who preceded him in death. He was also survived by his brother Paul Parisi and his brother-in-law Richard Castellana along with many nieces and nephews.
He and his wry sense of humor will be greatly missed. Anyone who ever heard him sing his rendition of Happy Birthday will forever fill the silent pause with an ooop!
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in his name.
