Frederick Arnold Berl

Fred Berl was born on October 4, 1923, the son of Frederick W. and Laura (Nahrgang) Berl. During World War II, he served in the Unites States Navy. After the war, he attended Wayne State University and graduated with an engineering degree in 1950. He and Jacqueline B. Leimeter were married on September 1, 1950.
Fred was a machine tool sales engineer for Cincinnati Milacron, retiring in 1987. He was active in the Kiwanis’s Club. F red He was a member of the Shriners, the Owosso Michigan Masonic Lodge, the Bay City Consistory and the Scottish Rite.
He was also a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers, the Numerical Control Society, Wayne State Alumni Association and the American Legion and the Owosso Country Club.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie, a daughter Barbara Sosnowchik and her husband Thomas of Tucson, AZ, a son Frederick J. Berl and his wife Theresa of Los Alamos, NM, two grandchildren Brian Sosnowchik and Alexandra Berl, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a brother Carl Berl and a sister Margaret Bowman.
