Slight Scratch On Finger Ends In Death
Frank Cline Dies Sunday When Blood Poison Develops From A Minor Injury
(From Thursday's Daily)
Frank Cline, who was brought to Mercy hospital four days ago, suffering from blood poisoning of his hand, passed away Sunday forenoon. The cause of the infection was due to one of his fingers being slightly scratched about ten days ago, while he was descending the shaft of the Copper Queen mine at Stoddard, and which occasioned him not the slightest alarm at the time.
He continued his duties as a miner for the rest of the week, when his hand showed symptoms of blood poisoning. He was then brought to this city for medical attention, but the affliction baffled medical skill and the end came with the most intense suffering.
Cline had been a resident of this county for many years, and had grown to manhood here. He was industrious and bore a splendid name among all.
He was aged about 35 years and leaves no known relatives, the father, mother, brother and other relatives passing away several years ago.
The remains are at Ruffners.
