The White Mountain Independent, Show Low, Arizona ~ 11/29/2013 Genevieve (Genny) Lecours Peck, 85, died peacefully Nov. 2, 2013, at home surrounded by the love and care of her family. She was born Nov. 26, 1927, in Glen Elder, Kan., to Charlotte and Burchey Parker. Genny lived in the Monson-Palmer area, as well as Eagar. Genny and her husband, Gerry, owned Video Sales and Service of Monson. She also worked at Firth’s Variety Store and Monson Development Center. She was an active member of Second Congregation Church, United Church of Christ of Palmer, where she volunteered her time at the Church Caboose Thrift Store and worked with the Church Cut-Ups, a quilting group. Additionally, Genny knitted and crocheted hats, gloves, mittens and scarves for several local charities. Genny was a lifetime member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary of Eagar, where she lived for many years with her husband Earl Peck. She loved making pies for their Bingo night and she was a Santa’s helper for many years. She loved animals, especially her dogs. Genny will be deeply missed by her son, Paul (Dawn) Lecours of Palmer, with whom she lived; daughter Rose (John) Burton of Eagar; stepsons: Barry and Wayne Peck; stepdaughter Dawn Cortes; grandsons: Aaron Musgrove-Lecours of Astoria, N.Y., John Burton Jr. of Belchertown; granddaughters: June Brooke of Concho, Rebecca Burton of Springerville, Mary Mahoney and Tiffany Geisler of Eagar, Kristy Sutton of Bondsville; and stepgradnsons: Eric and Scott Dunham. She also leaves behind 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband(s) Gerard Lecours and Earl Peck, son Geoge J. Lecours, great-grandson Calvin Geisler, brothers: Kenneth and Russell Parker and sister Maxine Touhey. Genny will be missed and remembered for her enchanting smile and her kindness, selflessness and desire to help others. A calling hour was held Nov. 7 at the Second Congregational Church in Massachusetts, followed by a memorial service at the church. Burial followed in Hillcrest Cemetery in Monson. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Genny’s memory to Second Congregational Church, United Church of Christ of Palmer, or Wing Memorial Hospital Visiting Nurses Association.
