Monita Timmons, of Prescott, Ariz., born Sept. 23, 1929, in Elkhart, Kan., passed away Nov. 22, 2013.
Services will be 2 p.m. Dec. 7, 2013, at the American Lutheran Church, 1085 Scott Drive, Prescott, Ariz.

Monita D. Timmons, 84, of Prescott, Ariz., passed away with her husband by her side on Nov. 22, 2013. She was born on Sept. 23, 1929, in Elkhart, Kan., to Edward and Ruby McNeill.
She graduated from Topeka High School and attended Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kan. She was president of her society, Delta Delta Delta, and a member of Mortar Board, an honorary society. She and her husband George met and were married in 1950 while attending the university.
Monita and George spent their early married years in Kansas and moved to Arizona in 1975. They lived in Phoenix until 1998, when they retired to Prescott. Monita lived a life of serving others as a Sunday school teacher, a Peace Corps volunteer in the Philippines, and an active volunteer for the Huntington Disease Society of America. Monita was also a 60-year member of PEO.
Monita is survived by George Timmons, her loving husband of nearly 64 years. They were blessed with three children, Jill, Gregg and Gary, as well as eight grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her three younger brothers and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
