Ignatius (Babe)
Ignatius "Babe" Cina passed away on March 19, 2004.
He was born on January 2, 1925 in Gary, Indiana.
He was married to Sally Neal on August 16, 1958, for forty-one years until her passing in 1999.
They are survived by three daughters, Nancy, Sara, and Jane. Babe is also survived by a sister, Mary.
Babe and Sally moved to San Francisco shortly after marrying, and in 1969 moved once more to Scottsdale, Arizona to raise their family and that is where they stayed the remainder of their years. Babe was a World War II Navy veteran, an alumnus of Indiana University, and a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He spent his working life in the newspaper advertising business, beginning at the San Francisco Examiner, and ending with his retirement from the Scottsdale Progress.
In addition to his professional work, Babe participated in many civic organizations and activities. In addition to being a past member of Kiwanis, he was a long time-active member, and past president, of the Order of the Sons of Italy. In memory of his wife, Sally, Babe also became a volunteer at Scottsdale Healthcare - Osborn. Babe was a dedicated husband and father, and an amazing man who was loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A celebration of his life was held Tuesday, March 23rd, 2004 at Green Acres Mortuary, 401 N. Hayden Road, Scottsdale, AZ 85257.
