Greer’s Mortuary of Winslow, Winslow, Arizona Barbara Jean Morris September 06, 1945 - November 22, 2013 Barbara Jean Charlie Morris, 68, passed away on Friday, November 22, 2013 after a courageous and hard fought battle with liver cancer at Mesa, Arizona Hospice Center. Barbara was born September 6, 1945 to George Shemetewa and Rosemary Begay Charlie at Fort Defiance, Arizona. She graduated from Wayne High School, Bicknell, Utah and went on to school at the Latter Day Saints Business College in Salt Lake City, Utah. She married Henry T. Morris on July 25,1967 in Holbrook, Arizona. She enjoyed working as an Administrative Assistant for Services and Sales for 15 years, at Corporate Offices, at Bureau of Indian Affairs and in the Apache Junction, Arizona School District. Barbara was a dedicated wife and mother. She was devoted to her children and grandchildren. She was unselfish loving others with whom she came in contact. She loved children as she worked for the Apache Junction School District. She was a helpmate to her husband in Native American Silver Smithing and traveled with him on business trips. She was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 46 years; two children Henry T. Jr., and Michelle; two grandchildren Kathryn and Duane who were the light of her life; brothers and sisters; Shirley S. (Ray) Midget of Bear River City, Utah, George Rudy S. Charlie of Albuquerque, N.M., Becky Charlie of Pinetop, Arizona, Louie (Leta) Shemetewa of Pine, Arizona, Newton Johnny (Jeannie) Charlie of Winslow, Arizona, Lyman (Evelyn) Charlie of Penasco N.M., Nevada Soto of Salt Lake City, Utah; foster mother Norma Turner; foster brother David Turner, and a special brother in law James Morris. She was preceded in death by her father George, her mother Rosemary, and a brother Ricky. The family thanks the staff at Hospice Of The Valley, Mesa Arizona, and the Bishopric and members of the Apache Junction, Patterson Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for their care and assistance. A viewing will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Winslow, Arizona at 9:00 a.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 and a funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m.
