Herbert Louis
Herbert Louis Wegert passed away Nov. 3, 2005 after a long illness.
He lived most of his life in Englewood, CO and was descended from four early Colorado pioneering families: the Engles, the Owens, the Samsons, and the Wegerts.
He went to work for the telephone company in 1942. After serving 3 years, 1 month in the Army Air Force (1943-1946), he returned to Mtn Bell AT&T Co. in Denver, CO, where he retired in July 1982. He loved the mountains, the outdoors, travel and square dancing for 40 years. He and his wife were Winter Visitors in Mesa for 19 years.
"Louie" is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mildred Brewer Wegert; 3 children and their spouses: William Louis (Ann) Wegert of Gunnison, CO; Dianne L. Wegert (Tim) Williams of Durango, CO., and Jack L. (Donna) Wegert of Littleton Co.; and four grandchildren: Patrick (Gladys) Kearney of San Diego, Ted Williams of Kansas, Jess L. Wegert & Becky L. Wegert, both of Gunnison, CO.
