Burl F. Crabbs, 84, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away February 28, 2004 at the Arizona State Veteran's Home.
He was born July 24, 1919 in Poland, Ohio and grew up in the Warren, Ohio area.
He served in the Army prior to WWII. During WWII he worked for Cadilac Motors in Detroit where he met and married Betty Crockett in December of 1944.
He came to Phoenix in January of 1945 with his new bride Betty. He worked for the State of Arizona for many years before going into business for himself and then finally retiring as the business office manager for historic First Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his sisters Lois Herlinger and Marjorie Glass of the Warren, Ohio area and by his wife of 59 years Betty Crabbs, son Richard Crabbs, grandsons Alexander Crabbs and Adrian Crabbs, great grand children Jordyn Crabbs and Bryce Crabbs all of the Phoenix area.
A memorial service was held on Saturday March 13, 2004 at the Church of the Beatitudes, 555 West Glendale Avenue, Phoenix, Arizona. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made in his memory to: Hospice of the Valley, 1510 East Flower St., Phoenix, Arizona 85014 or to the Veteran's Donation Fund c/o Arizona State Veteran's Home, 4141 North 3rd St., Phoenix, Arizona 85013. The family extends a warm and greatful thanks to all the wonderful people at the Arizona State Veteran's Home for their loving care of Burl.
