FULKERSON, Nelson Withers

The Daily Courier, Prescott, Arizona Wednesday, December 11, 2013 Nelson Withers Fulkerson, born April 18, 1985 to Samuel Hiland and Stacey Beryl Fulkerson in Tucson, Ariz. was welcomed to heaven on Dec. 4, 2013. Nelson and his family moved to Prescott in 1986 and then to Prescott Valley in the same year. He graduated from Bradshaw Mountain High school in 2003. He obtained his Wild Land Fire Fighter certificate from Yavapai College. Nelson worked for Color Spot Nurseries, Costco, AAE and for the majority of his adult life as a heavy equipment operator. Nelson loved anything to do with the outdoors; hunting, fishing, gardening and hiking to name a few. When Nelson was little he was all boy; he loved to play in the dirt and loved bugs, lizards, frogs and dogs. As an adult, he still loved lizards and tortoises and had his dream job to play in the dirt and get paid. One of his favorite places was Havasupai. He loved to laugh and enjoyed making others laugh. His dimples were deep and would light up a room. Nelson had too many friends to count and cherished them all. He would do anything for a friend. Above all, he loved his family and we love him too. We will miss him always until we meet again in heaven through the promise of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Nelson is survived by his parents Samuel Hiland and Stacey Beryl (Sommers) Fulkerson; brothers Hiland Eugene (Christina Lynn) and Samuel "Kane" (Jessica Michael); little "sissy" Ivory Beryl; nieces, Amy Beth, Alyssa Lynn, Andrea Taylor and Addison Grace (Christina and Hiland); aunts and uncles, Cathy and Dave Platt, Todd and Darlene Sommers, Mike and Lisa Fulkerson, J.D. and Suzie Fulkerson; cousins, Mike, David, Catherine and James, Don and Belem, Kayla and Rusty, Ashlie, Travis, Myla, Forrest, Laurel, Elyse, Carter, Cooper and Sierra. Nelson was preceded in death by his grandparents, Don and Betty Sommers and Jack and Donna Fulkerson; and cousin Kyle Sommers (Todd and Darlene Sommers). A celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m. Dec. 14, 2013, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 3950 N. Valorie Drive, Prescott Valley, officiated by Pastor Tim Blau.
