Mary Butler, 94, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, at Hinkson Assisted Living in St. Johns. She was born Jan. 13, 1919, in St. Johns, the daughter of John Edward Eagar and Louisa Jane Brown Eagar.
Mary was a retail manager for St. Johns Dry Goods. She made quilts and dolls and enjoyed embroidery, knitting and crocheting. She also wrapped beautiful gifts for friends and neighbors.
She is survived by her daughters, Marlene Saunders of Las Vegas, Nev.; Geraldine Davis of St. Johns; Janet Hendricks of Arkansas; Kay McClellan of Los Alamos, N.M.; sister Ada Gelling of Phoenix; 18 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, 20 great-great-grandchildren and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Hyrum Butler.
