Michael Anthony Piccolo, 22, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2013. He was born to Michael and Brenda Piccolo.
In 2006, Michael Anthony joined Bagdad Fire as a cadet, doing what God called him to do: help others. In 2010, Michael Piccolo swore into the Army National Guard and was on his way to becoming a soldier-medic with the ultimate goal of utilizing this training to further a fire career.
The beginning of August 2010, Presley met her daddy and her hero, who fell in love with her at first sight. On June 13 of this year, Michael and LillyAnna were joined in marriage and eager to start their married life.
Michael loved to hunt big ole muleys, kick it in the sticks, and spend time with the loves of his life after a long day. He was in the process of completing his fire science degree at Yavapai College, having already earned his EMT through the grueling training in Whiskeyland at Ft. Sam-Houston in San Antonio, Texas. As the medic for the Scout Sniper platoon, SPC Piccolo received an Army Achievement Award Medal and was hand-picked for an Expert Field Medical Badge Course (Or EFMB course). The EFMB course was one of the highest honors as a Soldier Medic, being as only a few medics from each state are chosen to participate.
Michael poured his entire heart and soul into every aspect of his life, ensuring that he did everything to the best of his ability.
Michael Anthony Piccolo is survived by his wife, LillyAnna Piccolo; daughter Presley Grace; father Mike Piccolo; mother Brenda Piccolo; grandmother Marilyn Watson; grandfather Danny Watson; grandfather Ralph Piccolo; and grandmother Alberta Murphy.
He was preceded in death by his unborn baby, Oakley Piccolo, and his grandfather, William Rupert Sr.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at the Bagdad High School Gymnasium.
