Born Ralph Thomas Molzen in Newton, Kan., he left to serve his four years in the Navy. Tom loved fishing, especially ocean fishing, and caught several bass in Lake Havasu. He has fished and hunted over much of the world — Africa, Alaska, Canada and Mexico as well as up and down the Pacific Coast and the Gulf of Mexico. Tom bagged very little game, fish or fowl that did not grace our table over 42 years of marriage.
Tom was a member of the Elk’s Lodge, the City Sportsman Club and the NRA in Havasu. He loved to play cards. He attended Safari Club International conventions annually.
Tom’s loving wife, Kathy has many happy memories of their extensive travel in Europe, Mexico, Panama, Australia, New Zealand, many island countries in the Caribbean, and RV travel around the United States.
Also grieving his loss are his sons, David (Vickie), of San Diego, Calif., John (Jamie), of Texas and Lt. Col. Craig (Chris), currently posted in Nevada; his grandchildren, Denny, Stacey, Heather, Jonathan, William, Evelyn and Kaila; and great-grandsons, Tobiah, Jaxson and Malakai.
Though his loss is acute and will leave a permanent hole in our hearts, we are comforted at his coming to know Jesus and the assurance that he is safe with Him at this time.
Each one of his many friends was equally important to him and he felt the love from them during the past two-year struggle. In order to best accommodate school schedules, vacation accrual, etc, the family agrees that a celebration of Tom’s life will occur July 12, 2014 in honor of his 75th birthday.
In lieu of flowers donations may benefit Beacon of Hope Hospice, 500 N. Lake Havasu Ave., #B106, Lake Havasu City, AZ 86403 or Calvary Baptist Church, S. McCulloch, Lake Havasu City, AZ.
