Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Thursday, November 14, 2013 - JoAnne Rising, 83, passed away Oct. 29, 2013 in Oxnard, Calif. She was born Oct. 30, 1929 in Canadian, Texas to Art and Thelma J. (Gilstrap) Evans. JoAnne was a resident of Lake Havasu City for 23 years. Her greatest joy was having all of her family together. She enjoyed camping, boating and water skiing. She was an excellent seamstress and loved sewing for her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Jill Rising, of Port Hueneme, Calif. and Merryll Ann Rising, of Riverside, Calif.; three grandchildren, James Brandon and Shannon Kelly, of Mission Viejo, Calif.; Kyle Walls, of Apple Valley, Calif.; four great-grandchildren, Ethan Kelly and Lyla Kelly, Mission Viejo, Calif. and Mia Walls and Chandler Walls, of Apple Valley, Calif.; brother, Jack Evans, of Garden Grove, Calif.; sister, Jerry Fink, of Coeur d’Alene, Idaho and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Donald L. Rising, and grandson, Wyatt Justin Walls. Her service and burial will take place, Nov. 20 at 11:15 a.m., Riverside National Cemetery, in Riverside, Calif.
