Hansen Day, 84, went to be with the Lord, Nov. 4, 2013. He was born Oct. 30, 1929, in Thomaston, Ga., to James and Alta (McCard) Day.
Hansen married Marian Feb. 25, 1950, in California, where they raised their family, before retiring in Lake Havasu City. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church and a Korean War Veteran and was known for his Southern gentlemanly approach to everyone.
He was also known for his devotion to his faith in God, his smile and kind nature, his love for his family and being a faithful friend. Hansen adored his wife of 61 years until her passing in 2011.
He will be missed by his loving family and dear friends.
Hansen is survived by his daughters, Linda Tessier of Roosevelt, Minn., Paula Herr of Lake Havasu City, Jackie (Ken) Kush of Irvine, Calif.; sons, Larry (Eileen) Day of Lake Havasu City and Stephen Day of Phoenix; nine grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; brother, Gene Day and sister, Mattalyn Haynes. He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife, Marian.
A Memorial Service will take place at noon, Saturday, Nov. 23 at Community Presbyterian Church, 3450 Chemehuevi Blvd. with the Marine Corps League presenting Military Honors.
