Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted: Wednesday, December 11, 2013 - Frederick William Goetz passed away Nov. 30, 2013 in Lake Havasu City at the age of 80. He was born Sept. 9, 1933, in Atlantic City, N.J., to John and Frida (Schwab) Goetz. Fred worked as a wardrobe manager in the horse racing industry before moving to Lake Havasu City 13 years ago. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, serving as a Military Policeman and receiving the National Defense Service Medal. Fred is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Patricia Goetz, of Lake Havasu City; son, John P. Goetz and his wife, Sherri, of Temple City, Calif.; daughter, Mary Ann Magana and her husband, Nicholas, of West Covina, Calif.; and his four grandchildren, Ryan Goetz, Trevor Goetz, James Magana and Christine Magana. A Memorial service will take place at Lietz-Fraze Chapel, Saturday, at 1:30 p.m., with words of comfort by Chaplain Sandra Johnson and Military Honors performed by the VFW Post #9401 and the American Legion #81.
