FULLER, Dallas Odell

Today's News-Herald, Lake Havasu City, AZ - Posted on November 17, 2013 - Dallas Odell Fuller was born on June 20, 1931 in Emmett, Idaho and passed away on November 1, 2013 in Cashmere, Washington. He is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Dolores Arlene (Espeland) Fuller, and his parents Fred Delbert Fuller and Verbie Harvey Fuller. He is survived by his brother Fred Fuller (Bernice) of Cottage Grove, Oregon; sister Susan Buck (Lynn) of Meridian, Idaho; son Gary Fuller (Bev) of Moscow, Idaho; daughter Janis Miller (Sam) of Cashmere, Washington; and daughter Nancy Morrison (Scott) of Oak Park, California. He has 4 grandchildren (Trish, Katie, Ashley, Caitlyn), 5 great-grandchildren (Kendra, Cameron, Cassidy, Austin, Ava), and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends, who will all miss him very much. Dallas grew up in Emmett, Idaho, living briefly elsewhere during the war in the 1940s. Dallas married Dolores Espeland on April 28, 1951 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He attended the University of Idaho in Moscow where their son Gary was born. He graduated in 1955 with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and worked for a few years in Ohio and Indiana for RCA Corporation where his daughters Janis and Nancy were born. Dallas was hired by Rocketdyne in 1962 as a design engineer and moved his family to southern California. He was promoted to lead engineer in the electrical components unit for the Space Shuttle main engine. Dallas retired as Manager of Ground Support and Engineering Design in 1990. During those years of working and raising children, he was also very active in Epiphany Lutheran Church in Canoga Park, California. After his retirement, Dallas and Dolores moved to Lake Havasu City, Arizona, where he participated in many activities and organizations. He volunteered with every organization he was associated with, among them the Elks Club and the Lake Havasu Yacht Club where he is a lifetime member. Dallas traveled extensively during his life, and often with friends and relatives. He spent many years exploring the continental United States, camping in the early years with his family and later in their motor home. Dallas traveled throughout the world with many of the trips by cruise ship. His last cruise was with his friend Marcia Westerbeke to the Western Caribbean. His final trip was spent visiting family and friends in the Pacific Northwest as he had done for over twenty years. A funeral service will be held at Mount Olive Lutheran Church in Lake Havasu City, Arizona on Saturday November 23rd, 2013 at 11:00AM followed by a reception at the Lake Havasu Yacht Club. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in honor of Dallas Fuller to Central Washington Hospital Foundation in Wenatchee, Washington or the charity of your choice.
